Increasing importance of cyber security
In times when more and more devices are connected via the Internet, the importance of cyber security is growing. More and more companies are therefore making security a top priority, which VanRoey.be has been exploring for years. Successfully, because earlier this year, we were Fortinet still recognized as EMEA Growth Partner Of The Year.
The increasing importance of cyber security and VanRoey.be's success in this area also increase the need for Security Engineers, which is not always easy to find. Roel Van Looy, Technical Manager Networking & Security at VanRoey.be testifies: "The number of security projects has risen exponentially in recent years, and in order to maintain this growth, the number of FTEs has to be doubled. In concrete terms, this means at least 5 new Security Engineers this year, which is not an easy task to accomplish, given that specific technical knowledge and relevant experience are important requirements. Next-Gen project also other interested parties (e.g. school leavers) to a 6-week, paying on-the-job training."
More and more female IT Engineers
Whereas the technical team at VanRoey.be used to consist exclusively of men, in recent years there have been more and more women working in Roel's Networking & Security Team, currently consisting of 3 female IT Engineers: Yoni, Els and Lien. Els, who has been with VanRoey.be for 8 years now, is happy to talk about her job as a Security Engineer: "The customer contact combined with the technical complexity makes my job exciting and varied every day. In addition, there are also occasional installations in other countries, which adds to the variation in the job".
For the sake of clarity: male IT Engineers are also welcome. An overview of all current vacancies can be found at https://www.vanroey.be/jobs/.
