Retrospective IT Inspiration Day at Living Tomorrow

The revamped Living Tomorrow was the setting for our second IT Inspiration Day. How will we work, live and live in the future and what role will technology play in this? These were the fascinating topics our inspirers Gerty Seutens (HP), Dirk Gaudeus (Living Tomorrow), Pat Van Roey (VanRoey) and Rik Vera (Keynote speaker) took us through.

Looking ahead instead of in the rear-view mirror

Living Tomorrow, founded in 1995 in Vilvoorde, Belgium, is known as an innovative platform visualising the future of living, living and working. This 'living lab' is an incubator for new technologies and ideas, with partners ranging from start-ups to multinationals working together to drive innovation.

Our IT Inspiration Day became more than a showcase of technological innovations; it was a platform to discover the digital opportunities of 2035 together with customers and colleagues. In a world where technological progress is occurring at an unprecedented pace, we wanted to provide our participants with the knowledge and inspiration needed to stay ahead in this dynamic sector. #Forward is therefore one of our corporate values.

Enriching insights from subject matter experts

To tie it all together in clear, plain language, we could count on guest speakers of stature. Also from our own house! Each with years of accumulated expertise in IT, technology and business.
In each person's own way, they point the way to a bold future:

- Mark Aerts, Sales Director at VanRoey, spoke about the journey of technological evolution and its impact on sales and marketing strategies.
- Dirk Gaudeus, Innovation Coach at Living Tomorrow, showed how technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and 3D printing will transform the way we live and work.
- Pat Van Roey, CEO VanRoey, stressed the importance of continuous anticipation and innovation in the IT sector, and how we at VanRoey put these principles into practice.
- Rik Vera, Keynote, author and business philosopher, offered a glimpse of the future with his presentation on staying relevant in a rapidly changing world. His message: 'Anticipate the future by innovating today and being busy with 2035'.

Lessons learned #Forward

To briefly summarise the insights of the day, we choose the following lessons:

1. Anticipate change and don't stick to one plan: The future of IT is not just embracing new technologies, but anticipating how these technologies will evolve and shape our world.
2. Stay customer-focused and embrace for this technology: In an age of digitalisation, it is essential to put the customer first and use technology to improve the customer experience. This applies not only to retailers.
3. Always think sustainably, including in innovation: Innovation is not just the creation of new products, but also the sustainable use of technology for a better future.
4. Act today for tomorrow: Look ahead (not in the rear-view mirror) and dare to take steps with full focus on the future!

A.I. will be an important part of this future. Therefore, ask yourself the question: "How do I stand it?

Where do you stand on AI?

Conclusion: taking steps towards the future
